A Netflix engineer who was reported missing last month has been found dead, according to the Marin County Sheriff's Office. The Marin County Sheriff's Office Coroner Division was contacted by the California Highway Patrol last Tuesday, Aug. 29 at around 11:41 a.m. on a report of an unconscious/unresponsive person in the water of the San Francisco Bay.The body was spotted northeast of the Golden Gate Bridge by a passing boat, according to the sheriff's office. The U.S. Coast Guard was notified and responded to the area and located a lifeless male floating in the bay.The subject was recovered from the water and taken to Station Golden Gate in Sausalito where paramedics pronounced him deceased. No resuscitation was provided due to the subject's physiologic condition, police said. He was positively identified on Thursday, Aug. 31 as Yohanes Stefanos Kidane, 22, of San Jose. 22-Year-Old Lake Elsinore Man Pronounced Dead after Motorcycle Accident near State Route 76ESCONDIDO, CA (September 6, 2023) – Sunday afternoon, one man was killed and a woman was hurt in a pursuit collision on Washington Avenue.Around 12:04 p.m., the rider of a speeding motorcycle was heading south on the freeway near State Route 76.Investigators say the rider continued into Valley Center and continued west into Escondido where officers lost him.Shortly after, police located the rider traveling at a high rate of speed and running a red light on Washington Avenue.There, the motorcyclist struck the front bumper of a northbound vehicle that was heading through Harding Street on a green light. OAKLAND — A Bay Area man was sentenced to four years and seven months in federal prison for selling multiple pounds of methamphetamine to someone who was secretly working for the Drug Enforcement Administration, court records show.Hector Arteaga, 42, of Oakland, was sentenced last month by U.S. District Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers. Last year, Arteaga met up with confidential DEA informants at various retail parking lots in San Leandro to sell the person either one or two pounds of methamphetamine on multiple occasions, prosecutors said.Arteaga became a target of the DEA after an investigation identified him as a “supplier of large amounts of crystal methamphetamine,” a DEA agent wrote in a sworn statement filed in court. (KRON) -- A man was killed after being struck by a truck in Santa Rosa on Wednesday, the Santa Rosa Police Department said. The crash happened on the 500 block of Sebastopol Road, just after noon. A police investigation revealed that a pedestrian was crossing Sebastopol Road outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a black 2013 Chevrolet Silverado, police said. The victim was pronounced dead at a local hospital at approximately 12:45 p.m. He was identified as a white man estimated to be in his 30s.
