Former Iowa kicker charged in gambling sting allegedly won a bet on the 2021 Iowa-Iowa St game A former walk-on kicker at the University of Iowa was charged Wednesday in connection with wagering on Hawkeyes sports events — one day after Iowa State quarterback Hunter Dekkers was accused of committing the same offense at his school.Aaron Blom, who was on the Iowa roster from 2020-22, used a DraftKings Sportsbook account set up under his mother’s name and made about 170 mobile or online sports wagers before he turned 21, the legal gambling age in the state, according to the criminal complaint filed in Johnson County, Iowa.The wagers totaled over $4,400, with about eight placed on Iowa sporting events. 1 killed in daytime shooting near Federal DENVER (KDVR) — Denver police are investigating a deadly shooting in the Westwood neighborhood. Just before 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, the Denver Police Department tweeted about a shooting in the area of Federal Boulevard and Ohio Avenue. Multi-vehicle crash shuts down eastbound I-70 in Jefferson County Police found one victim who was pronounced dead. The case is now being investigated as a homicide. The years after the COVID pandemic have been characterized by inflation, both of living costs and of wages. Employers had to raise wages and salaries in order to attract and retain workers, particularly among the industries most impacted by the pandemic. In Colorado, wages have been rising faster than virtually anywhere east of the Rocky Mountains. This is according to the most recent analysis of payroll data by ADP Pay Insights. How much do Coloradans owe in student loans once payments start again? Between June 2022 and June 2023, the state's median yearly pay rose 7.4%, the 10th-highest rate among U.S. states and the District of Columbia. As of June, the state's median yearly pay was $62,500. U-Haul truck found with stolen mail and Amazon packages sparks police investigation in Plantation A U-Haul truck was found with mail and packages from various addresses which led to a police perimeter being set up in a Plantation neighborhood. Officers received a call last night of a suspicious vehicle in the area of Northwest 94th Avenue and 15th Street around 4 a.m. Wednesday. Police officers were seen with flashlights as they searched the inside of the pickup which appeared to be filled with mail, Amazon packages and boxes.According to officials they contacted the driver & observed about 200 pieces of mail inside. 7News cameras captured the U-Haul being towed away.
